Consumer PR Account Director, top (global) agency

The Firm: Our client is one of the UK's most prominent and highly respected PR and Corporate Affairs consultancies. 

 The Role:  To lead a team of talented PR professionals to work on a portfolio of key consumer accounts.

  • PR account management: To manage digital and media campaigns for some of UK’s biggest consumer brands with other colleagues across Europe, including London, Madrid and Netherlands.
  • Team leadership: To lead a team of PR professionals, nurture/mentor them and manage the department’s work schedule in order to maximise the team’s effectiveness and help the firm and its clients achieve their objectives.
  • Events: To participate in all clients, in team and agency-wide events.
  • New business:    To assist on – and occasionally lead – new business presentations/pitches for Consumer accounts.
  • Strategy:    To attend and contribute to the senior management team meetings on the firm’s strategy and commercial/operational planning process.

This position will also give you the opportunity to network widely, maintain your ongoing professional development and expand your skills through number of in-house / external webinars and training sessions given by key industry thought leaders.

The Ideal Candidate for this exceptional career opportunity will have previous PR agency experience at Account Director level and will be accomplished in dealing with consumer brands. Requirements:

  • Previous experience managing and dealing with consumer accounts.
  • Previous experience in leading a team or mentoring junior members of staff.
  • Leading edge’ experience with social media and digital PR/communications
  • A demonstrable track-record of success in presenting/pitching to new clients.
  • Strong copywriting and PR experience, ideally (but not necessarily) acquired via a journalism or professional writing background, and the ability to produce – and manage - clear, concise and engaging copy.
  • An aptitude and appetite for team management, mentoring and motivational leadership
  • Able to travel locally – and occasionally internationally – to attend client meetings and events etc.
  • Ambition – and the potential to move up the Weber Shandwick management tree as a reward for career success and commitment.
